Adopt a Chimpanzee

ABOUT CHIMPANZEES

Chimpanzee populations have been decimated by habitat loss, and the illegal bushmeat and pet trade. In 1993, Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary was established as a lifelong refuge for these victims of abuse and neglect.

As the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, we provide a safe, natural home for 29 rescued individuals, many of whom arrived with severe physical and psychological trauma. Your adoption supports the specialised nutrition, veterinary care, and social enrichment these animals need to heal and rediscover what it means to be a chimpanzee.
