Ol Pejeta Takes On The 2025 Wildlife Ranger Challenge

The urgency to protect Kenya’s wildlife has never been greater. As populations decline due to habitat loss, climate change, and relentless poaching, the brave rangers on the front lines stand as our last defense.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a sanctuary of hope for black rhinos and the last northern white rhinos, relies on the courage and commitment of these frontline protectors. For seven years, our rangers have been the steadfast guardians of this vital ecosystem and the communities within it. Their remarkable efforts in the 2024 Wildlife Ranger Challenge 21km race saw them achieve an impressive 5th place nationally and 29th continentally.

This year, our rangers are stepping up in a new way, with both an all-male and an all-female team participating in the 2025 Wildlife Ranger Challenge.

Their commitment will be tested through various stages, starting with the Wildlife Ranger Quiz (July 23rd-29th). They will then face rigorous physical tests with the Push-Up Challenge (August 11th-15th) and the Sit-Up Challenge (August 25th-29th), followed by the strategic Wildlife Ranger Time Trial Challenge (September 8th-12th), all leading to the final 21km Race on September 20th, showcasing the extraordinary strength and determination required for their daily work and building upon their past success.
